2 tablespoons sugar 
2 cups milk
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
A pinch of ground chili pepper (to taste)
A pinch of salt
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract 
Chocolate shavings or whipped cream for decoration
